T4A Form

According to the law, as a Canadian resident, it is your personal duty to declare all income (even below $500) received during the year. To ensure compliance with current tax rules, Lanla must issue a T4A slip to mystery shoppers whose annual compensations exceed $500.

This is not our responsibility and is entirely at your discretion. For a better understanding of the tax filing process, we recommend consulting your accountant.

As a registered company in Canada, we are obligated to issue a T4A for each subcontractor/freelancer providing services for more than $500 annually.

Please note that reimbursements for expenses directly related to assignments are automatically excluded from taxable income (when properly documented). In addition, Lanla applies a capped flat allowance for travel expenses, set according to government rates and reflecting the average kilometres travelled by mystery shoppers.

If your compensations exceed $500, you may, when filing your tax return, add and substantiate additional actual expenses (meals, parking, phone, required purchases, etc.). This can help optimize the non-taxable portion of your reimbursements while ensuring full transparency with the tax authorities
